Logo: Royal Forestry SocietyThe RFS is inviting applications for the post of “Assistant Forest Manager”.


This post has been created to aid a Higher Education learner (or recent graduate) gain experience of the professional workplace. The employee will receive specialist training and CPD opportunities to assist and fast-track the development of the skillsets required to become an assistant forest manager, over the course of a one-year role. The successful applicant will have access to 10 days RFS funded CPD, as well as a small grant fund to help the learner relocate

Tim Shardlow - Head of Forestry Operations
Adam Todd – Royal Forestry Society


Main purpose of the job:

  • To assist the existing management team in the implementation for forestry contracts and Estates, within agreed acceptable levels of risk.
  • To assist in new business development.
  • Where appropriate to assist the Establishment/Fencing team in practical operations and in the process broaden your experience and knowledge base.
  • To acquire a broad understanding of the work of the Nicholson’s Forestry Division and the wider commercial area it operates within.
