Lepe Country Park is one of Hampshire County Council's most popular visitor attractions hosting around 300,000 visits each year. The site has a full programme of events for the public, welcomes school visits and has a very successful Friends group which provides many volunteers to assist park staff. Lepe has successfully completed a recent transformation project which saw the opening of a new restaurant and Park reception and offices as well as many improvements across the Park, with more to come in 2019.

 

Your work, as Visitor Services Assistant will be on the front line of our park, welcoming visitors and providing them with an experience that will inspire them to return to the Park again and again. As such, the role will be varied and much of it will be people facing; working with the other Visitor Services Assistant and wider Park team, you will ensure visitors get the most out of their visit to Lepe.

 

You will help provide support on the front desk connecting visitors with what's on at the park and linking up to the wider New Forest National Park activities. Communication will be key to this role from face to face contact with visitors, to the telephone & online including via email, the website & social media. You will also support events and activities run by the Rangers for visitors to the Park as well as support with the general site management from monitoring car parking, to litter picking and checking the play areas. There are also key administrative tasks that will need to be completed within this role to ensure the smooth running of the business & to support excellent visitor experiences.

 

You'll have relevant experience in a similar role, working with the public and excellent communication skills. A good knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes is required and knowledge of the local community & environment will be a considerable advantage. Finally, you will be enthusiastic, inspiring and flexible, able to work within a dynamic team and on your own initiative.

 

This role is a fixed term, seasonal role to cover the busy Summer season at the Park. Weekend working is required.
