Ornithology Field Assistant

We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable ornithology field assistants to join our survey teams in 2019. Fieldwork is a substantial element of the job, and successful applicants will be expected to carry out field surveys on upland sites throughout Scotland.  As such a reasonable level of fitness is essential.  You will live on site in one of our field locations in Angus, Moray or Perthshire in a close-knit team of like-minded people.  Travel to other sites is required, and own transport is desirable but not required. This is a challenging but rewarding role, allowing successful applicants the opportunity to work in amongst wonderful scenery in the Scottish uplands, recording a variety of flora and fauna.  Teams are given a week-long training course prior to starting the role, with additional on-going training throughout the survey season.  Training may include navigation, first aid, 4x4 driving, habitat impact assessment, vegetation, mammal and Lepidoptera identification and GIS.

Positions are available for all or part of the survey season, from April-September 2019.
