Logo: River Dee TrustPost: Invasive Species Co-ordinator with the River Dee Trust (RDT), based on Deeside (Aberdeenshire).  


There are two components to this post, firstly working with an invasive non-native species Forum to facilitate and support co-ordinated action at a regional scale to survey and control invasive plant species. Secondly, working with the River Dee Trust to support the development and delivery of programmes to control invasive plants and American mink within the Dee, Don, Cowie and Carron catchments.  


The post will attract a salary of £29,000-£30,000 per annum or pro rata for a part-time post.

This post is for a fixed term until 18th September 2020.

Location: The post will be based mainly in the Trustís River Office at Mill of Dinnet near Aboyne but may also involve working out of other partner offices within the project area (Don DSFB at Kemnay, Aberdeenshire Council and/or Scottish Natural Heritage).


Us: The RDT is a charitable River Trust whose remit includes the provision of scientific and education services to fisheries and the wider community in the River Dee area, leading to environmental protection and improvement of the associated rivers and riparian habitats. You: You have a background in a biological or environmental science and have a minimum of two yearsí experience of working in a similar field. You have a knowledge and understanding of issues relating to invasive non-native species. You can demonstrate the ability to work in partnership with statutory agencies, organisations, communities and landowners and are experienced at working with members of the public. You are experienced in motivating, leading and retaining volunteers. You have good organisational and communication skills using a variety of media. You have a positive proactive attitude and are confident working alone and in a small team. You are experienced and willing to work outdoors daily in rural and urban environments. You have a current valid driverís licence.
