We're looking for someone with an enthusiasm for nature conservation who will provide support and technical consultation to the National Trustís properties, allowing them to achieve sustainable standards of conservation in line with the Trust's Land, Outdoor and Nature Programme and delivery of High Nature Status on our land. If you have excellent people skills, an ecological background and an ability to interpret data then we want to hear from you.

What it's like to work here

Weíre offering an exciting role where you can make a positive difference to some of the amazing nature conservation sites in the National Trustís care.

The East of England region of the National Trust reaches from The Ashridge Estate in Hertfordshire across to the woodlands of Blickling Estate near the Norfolk coast and from our in-hand organic farm on the Wimpole estate in Cambridgeshire to the salt marshes on the coast in Essex. Including some of some the most iconic landscapes in Britain, we care for some of the most incredible habitats and their associated species. Youíll play a key part in supporting our property teams to deliver our ambitious strategy to deliver more for nature.

This role will be based at the National Trust regional office in our wonderful Barn conversion at Westley Bottom, near Bury St Edmunds on edge of the Ickworth Estate.

What you'll be doing

Working alongside and under the guidance of our Wildlife Advisor, you'll be providing consultancy advice and support to properties in nature conservation, including habitat and species surveying and site management. You'll also be helping property staff and volunteers set up mechanisms to track change in habitats and identifying opportunities to help deliver high nature status on our land.

This is an exciting opportunity to encourage and train property staff, increasing their ability and passion to help drive nature conservation development more independently. You may also be managing small projects over short term horizons.
