Oxfordshire’s countryside is a hugely valuable resource and we’re looking for an experienced countryside access professional to lead the discipline for the authority.


We are looking for a knowledgeable, enthusiastic and dynamic countryside access professional who understands the importance of the public rights of way network in a broader strategic context and has an applied technical and legal knowledge with a proven record of achievement. Not afraid to experiment and develop new initiatives in partnership with a wide range of stakeholders including voluntary & special interest groups.


The role requires excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, combined with a passion for countryside access with the aim of providing a modern, responsive and effective service delivering good quality access to the countryside for the county’s residents and visitors across the 2600-mile public rights of way network.

The post is on a career grade with wide salary scales. Starting point is negotiable depending on skills and experience, but we are looking to appoint towards the top of the grade where appropriate.
