Fixed Term Rights of Way Officer

Full Time: 37 hours per week

£22,401 - £25,463 p.a.

Location: County Hall, Loughborough Road, West Bridgford, Nottingham, NG2 7QP.

 

A Rights of Way Officer is required at County Hall, West Bridgford to join a team of dedicated Countryside Access Officers, who are responsible for the management and recording of the Countyís public rights of way network.  

 

You will process requests for the diversion, extinguishment and creation of public rights of way. You will also support the Definitive Map Officers and assist with the making of Definitive Map Modification Orders (DMMOs).

 

Key duties include; processing Public Path Order requests, assist with DMMOs, prepare reports and present research findings at local public inquires and Council meetings, process Permissive Path Agreements, investigate map anomalies, assist with land searches, carry out research at County Archives and provide general support to the Countryside Access Team.  

 

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person with a proven track record and experience of carrying out Public Rights of Way legal Orders. You must have a good working knowledge and understanding of rights of way and highway functions and good communication and interpersonal skills. Experience of working with CAMS or a similar database and GIS is essential. The ability to effectively organise your time and workload is also required.

 

A full UK driving licence is essential. Lone working and site visits are part of the role sometimes involving difficult or uneven terrain. You should be willing to work outside normal office hours if required. We have a flexible working hourís scheme.
