Opportunity to join our team


A new 55 Hectare Country Park is being created near Salisbury within the Parish of Laverstock and Ford. The Country Park is a mixture of ex arable land reverting to chalk downland, landscaped chalk spoil to be sown with wildflower rich pasture seed, and small areas of woodland on steep slopes. Laverstock and Ford Parish Council will own the land and lease it to The Land Trust. River Bourne Community Farm will be The Land Trust's Managing Partner, managing the Country Park on a day to day basis with the local community.


We now have a vacancy for a suitable candidate to join us as a COUNTRYSIDE RANGER to develop and maintain the Country Park and to work within River Bourne Community Farm including managing Watermeadows leased to the Farm. Key aspects of the role include estate development and management of Country Park, leading volunteer team, liaison with voluntary organisations delivering aspects of countryside management, day to day management of grazing animals (conservation grazing), estate management of back up land (water meadows), record keeping for Country Park management planning purposes.


The position is full time (job share may be considered) initially as a two year Fixed Term Appointment with the potential to become a permanent post  

Hours: 37

Salary: 24,000 - 28,000 per annum
