About Us
The Woodland Trust is the UKís leading woodland conservation charity.  We want to see a UK rich in native woods and trees, for people and wildlife. The Trust aims to engage and inspire people about woods and trees to help us meet our vision of creating, restoring and protecting woodland. We own and care for over 1,000 woodland sites across the United Kingdom and support the creation and management of woodland on land outside the Trustís own estate.

The Role
As our Contracts Manager in Central England, you will be supporting the preparation and delivery of significant contracts and projects and responsible for managing contracts on site, whilst working alongside Site Managers for the Woodland Trustís Estate across Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Staffordshire, Shropshire, Northants and Leicestershire.

You will also be involved with auditing qualitative standards, mapping and other data gathering in support of the planning and delivery of operations on the Estate. Youíll identify works to be bundled into larger, more efficient contacts across site management areas and developing our contractor base to build confidence and competence within the sector.

In addition, youíll be assisting with maintaining standards of brand presentation and visitor experience at Woodland Trust sites in accordance with published Brand and Visitor Experience Guidelines.

 

The Candidate
With previous experience within forestry or conservation, youíll be solution focussed with excellent communication skills, be commercially aware and be able to work collaboratively to achieve results. Youíll be self-motivated and work well as part of a team but also comfortable and confident as a lone-worker in isolation when required. Youíll have experience of tendering, procuring and land management and/or forestry contracts, including operational budget management. A full driving licence with the ability to undertake travel across a wide area is an essential requirement.
