£20,000 pa (pro rata to 2.5 days per week)


The Land Trust is an independent charity dedicated to the management of green spaces for community benefit. We provide a cost effective solution for public open spaces, which delivers significant benefits such as health improvements, social cohesion, economic uplift and educational resources.


The Community Engagement Assistant is a new role to assist with the delivery of teaching events to children. Working with volunteers and community groups on the Land Trust sites, will involve working with landscape contractors and external training providers. The post holder will report to the Landscape and Community Officer.  A DBS check will be necessary for this role.


Role and Responsibilities:


  • Coordinating events with schools, external training providers and third party organisations.
  • Recruit, support and facilitate community groups and volunteers
  • Support the Landscape and Community Officer and Green Angels Manager on Green Angels environmental training courses
  • Identify opportunities for voluntary activities on Land Trust sites
  • Building and maintaining relationships with volunteers and community groups
  • Keeping a data base for monitoring and evaluating activities
  • Undertaking site checks
  • Liaising  with the landscape maintenance contractor on activities and contractual issues
  • Leading on events such as volunteering activities and health walks
  • Respond quickly and efficiently to any queries relating to the Warrington sites
  • Work closely with Land Trustís Communications team to ensure that they are up-to-date with activities/developments.


Skills and Experience:


  • Experience of delivering Community Engagement activities
  • Self motivated, works well independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage working relationships across all levels
  • Physically able to get to sites not accessible by vehicles
  • Full clean driving licence and use of a car
  • Knowledge of relevant Health and Safety regulations.
