Hours: 22.5 Hours per week
Contract: Fixed Term for 9 months

 

The River Garnock runs through a fascinating landscape, steeped in history and containing a rich industrial heritage. The Garnock Connections project has been established to reveal and enhance this wealth of industrial and natural heritage, as well as providing an opportunity for local people to connect to their special landscape.

 

We are looking to recruit a passionate and committed individual who can inspire local people and encourage them to get involved in surveying and recording wildlife; someone who is eager to learn new skills to progress their career in the heritage sector.

 

Key tasks will include

  • assisting the organisation and delivery of wildlife recording training events
  • assisting the maintenance of an online recording system
  • supporting local biodiversity recorders.

 

We are looking for an individual who has

  • good communication skills
  • the ability to engage with a range of different audiences
  • the ability to work well as part of a team
  • the enthusiasm to get involved in a range of different activities.

 

This is a fantastic opportunity to

  • take part in a range of other activities including practical ecological surveys and community engagement events.
  • be at the centre of an ambitious and exciting landscape conservation partnership
