The British Horse Society is the nationís largest equine charity with a passion for horses that is backed by knowledge and expertise. The BHS represents and provides a range of services for horse riders, horse owners, enthusiasts and professionals.

If successful in gaining a position with The British Horse Society as an Access Field Officer, you will be a member of the Societyís growing Access Department. The Access Team works to preserve, protect and extend equestrian access throughout the UK to enable every horse rider and carriage driver to be able to ride/drive from their stable onto a safe network of off-road paths.

You will coordinate Access activities primarily within a specified region (either East, South West, the East and West Midlands, or Yorkshire) ensuring the delivery of defined access objectives in this region.

In this exciting new role you have the opportunity to make a real difference. You will work closely with our trained team of  voluntary Access and Bridleway Officers and take a coordinated approach to taking access to the next level in the region. You will fuel your regionís work to research and record lost routes as well as taking opportunities to support the establishment of new routes where possible. In addition to this you will coordinate Equestrian Access activities and meetings which aim to secure routes on the ground and recruit more volunteers.

Our Access team are a voice for our industry. We lobby at national level, engage with local communities, and work closely with partner organisations to ensure every equestrian has access to safe, off road routes today and in the future. The Access Field Officer position plays a crucial role in helping the team to achieve great success in each region.

This will be a home based position involving some travel through the region as well as evening and weekend work where appropriate. The successful candidate must have access to a home office set up where broadband is available (and will be provided with BHS support for this). Applicants must also have their own reliable transport suitable for business use.

To apply for this role please provide us with a copy of your updated resume along with a covering letter highlighting your relevant skills and experience. It is also helpful if you can advise of your salary expectations in your covering letter. Applications should be sent directly to jobs@bhs.org.uk.

Closing Date for applications: 9am, Monday 9 December 2019
