Bristol City Council

£27,358 - £30,756

Full Time, Fixed-Term (2 years)

Ref: 2998

We are looking for an ambitious and resourceful individual to take forward our bold plans to increase volunteer activity in Parks and green space across Bristol.

Helping communities create excellent parks, you will apply your knowledge of what makes a good volunteer programme. You will need to successfully work with people and be able to generate clear and usable procedures, be a good negotiator and have experience of preparing promotional material, and be confident working in a multi-agency environment.

Your responsibilities will be delivering the change needed as we build a volunteer-positive environment, where volunteering is actively supported and encouraged; supporting staff working with volunteers, putting in place good systems to support volunteering, and working alongside our new Bristol and Bath Parks charitable Foundation to promote, celebrate and develop systems, mechanisms, and partnerships, that sustain volunteering activity.

You will also foster a positive volunteer working environment, where volunteering in parks is easy, fun and purposeful. This will be to increase volunteer activity in Bristol’s parks by supporting ‘friends of’ groups, work placement groups, corporate groups, and individuals volunteering directly with the service.
