35 hours per week

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable public rights of way officer to join our small, friendly team. We offer flexible working, and a varied and interesting workload covering many aspects of Public Rights of Way. This is an exciting opportunity to take a senior role within the Mapping Team including responsibility for:

 

  • The processing a variety of public path and definitive map modification orders.
  • Taking a lead on the assessment and monitoring of planning applications in line with the Council's 'Open for Business' priority.
  • Liaising with the planning inspectorate, preparing submissions and evidence and representing the authority in public hearings and inquiries if required.
  • Providing advice and support within the Public Rights of Way Mapping Team and externally.

 

As a highly motivated person you will be able to work on your own initiative to achieve successful outcomes, as well as acting as a mentor to other team members. You will also have excellent communication and negotiation skills and be able to deal effectively with a range of stakeholders including senior managers, county councillors, parish and town councils and user groups.
