Forestry Commission England are advertising for a new Woodland Creation Officer who will be based near Exeter in the South West Area Team but managed as part of the Sustainable Forest Management Team located in Bristol.

This fixed term post (until end of March 2020) will play a national role working with landowners and forestry agents, promoting, advising on and helping to administer large scale woodland creation proposals funded through the Woodland Creation Planning Grant, the Woodland Carbon Fund and, where appropriate, Countryside Stewardship capital grants for woodland creation.

The post-holder will be expected to focus on woodland creation, advocating its benefits and proactively communicating with and advising landowners and investors considering large-scale woodland creation. The post-holder will also advise on the regulatory aspects of individual scheme applications, although the EIA itself will be managed by the local Woodland Officer.
