Passionate about making a difference for wildlife? Want to deliver something genuinely new and innovative?

Wetlands for Farmers and Wildlife (WFFW) is an exciting project that is seeking to trial new ways of rotational farming in the UK. Based on systems in the U.S and Netherlands, the project is working with farmers and the Environment Agency to see if short term flooding of farmland can provide multiple benefits including flood alleviation, fewer crop pests, higher fertility and yields and more farmland wildlife.

The project has undergone a rigorous scientific review phase and is now looking to start active trials, working with farmers in the Humber area.

Highly organised and self-motivated, you will need strong people management skills to manage relationships with external partners and a track record in project management. An understanding of farming and nature friendly farming is desirable but not essential.

The post holder will work from the Denby Dale regional office but the role will involve frequent work on site in the wider Humber area. The role is three days per week but there is a possibility that funding for additional work may increase the hours to 4 days for the next year.

If you want to play a part in creating a new way of farming that helps reverse the declines of our farmland birds then this role is for you!

Please note that the role profile is generic to all project manager posts in the RSPB and the WFFW role may differ in the actual duties required.
