Kent County Council has obtained financial support from the Heritage Lottery Fund to deliver an exciting 4-year partnership project to work on nearly 10,000 hectares of chalk downland, one of Englandís most iconic landscapes. The aim of this project is to increase habitat connectivity at landscape scale between Kemsing Down and Detling Hill making the connection with peopleís values and community needs.


We are looking for a motivated individual who is highly skilled and experienced in the development and delivery of public engagement work, to deliver the projectís volunteer, communities and people participation programme.  You will have excellent communication skills that can be used across a wide range of channels ensuring that the projectís activities and achievements are promoted to a wide audience and local communities are engaged with the projectís work.  You will require a basic understanding of the natural environment and ecological survey methods to support our ongoing site monitoring programme.


This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
