BASC is the largest sporting shooting organisation in the UK, serving a growing membership of over 150,000 and a wide variety of stakeholder and public interests. It acts as a representative body for sporting shooting - fostering opportunity, safety, high standards and wildlife conservation.


BASC are looking to appoint a Gundogs Officer to support our busy Game and Deer department. The successful individual will have the opportunity to develop their career, while supporting the Game and Deer department with both desk and field based projects. The location base for this role will be flexible with the requirement to travel, however there is a need to attend head office on a regular basis.


The purpose of the role will be to provide proactive, comprehensive and efficient assistant support to the Game and Deer team with the aim of ensuring that the Association operates as effectively as possible.


Therefore the successful candidate will have:

  • Experience, knowledge and expertise of gundog ownership, welfare and training
  • Knowledge of event management and experience of gundog events
  • Experience of working gundogs in a shooting environment
  • Experience of gundog competitions and events
  • Experience of providing a high standard of service to customers
  • Experience of working with partners and/or volunteers and maintaining good communication and motivation
  • Experience of public speaking
