Permanent Role Ė Full time 37.5 hours per week

Salary range £19,602 to £21,236 per annum

As the Community Engagement and Membership Officer you will be responsible for delivering your own recruitment target of 320 memberships per year.  You will do this by using your community engagement skills and by enthusing your team of volunteers to create and run a series of family events and craft activities within the museum in order to inspire people about the work of the RSPB and to persuade them to support the charity through a regular donation.

 

You will be part of our Giving Nature a Home team in Glasgow where you will be based at Kelvingrove Museum as well as a variety of other sites and events.

 

We are looking for someone who is extremely enthusiastic, outgoing and self-motivated; a dynamic individual who will be creative, persuasive and fun. You will need to be able to think on your feet and communicate with a variety of personalities and interests to guide conversations towards RSPB membership. There is no need to be an expert on wildlife but having a passion and basic knowledge would be an advantage.  Being part of our team will mean you are making a difference to nature & to people every day.

 

By joining our growing and successful team you will receive full and continued training necessary for the role, including learning about current campaigns such as Giving Nature a Home, Saving Nature, Connecting Children and Nature, Marine bills and international projects. You will also learn about local nature reserves and regional conservation priorities.  This job will involve weekend working.
