Location: Earthworks St Albans, Hixberry Lane, St Albans, Hertfordshire, AL4 0TZ

Remuneration: 18,200 per annum salary (10.00/hour equivalent) and generous employer pension contribution  

Duration: 1 year fixed term contract (possibility of extension relevant to funding and the needs of the organisation)

Hours: 35 hours per week (7 hours per day) Monday - Friday, 9.15am - 4.35pm

Holiday Allowance: 25 days/year + Bank Holidays  


About Earthworks:


Earthworks St. Albans is a registered charity that offers social and therapeutic horticulture and other nature-based activities for Earthworkers, individuals with a learning disability. Earthworkers, volunteers and staff learn and work together to develop and maintain 3.5 acres of eco-gardens, with a focus on environmental sustainability, organic horticulture and traditional countryside skills.


About the role:


We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate individual to join our professional team, supporting Earthworkers and volunteers to achieve in a range of land-based activities, taking responsibility for general site maintenance and the upkeep of our wood yard facilities.  


About you:


You will be able to work with and support people all abilities, including learning disabilities, ensuring that everyone enjoys and benefits from their time at Earthworks. You will thrive in the outdoors, be comfortable working in all weathers and be devoted to upholding our environmental ethos. You will have experience in site maintenance and basic repairs and be able to lead on this. You will have a strong commitment to health and safety, safeguarding and work in a person centred way. You will be a strong team player, contributing to continuous development of the organisation. You will be motivated by supporting the achievements of others and making a difference. You will be patient, empathic and approachable.
