Eastleigh Borough Council is an ambitious and progressive council. We are recognised for our innovation and achievements, whilst delivering high quality service to our customers and the community.

We are seeking motivated individuals to work in the Service Delivery Directorate within the Visitor Business and Economy Unit. You will assist in developing an enjoyable customer experience at the Country Parks across the borough, ensuring that visitors receive excellent customer service at all times. You will provide information, advice and assistance to visitors and assist with education, activities and events for local schools and groups.

You must have a good level of education or relevant experience; it would be beneficial if you held an NVQ or similar qualification in a related field. Your role will involve working with customers so experience in a customer service role is essential; experience of working in Country Parks and visitor attractions is highly desirable.  It would also be advantageous if you had some practical ability in tool use to assist with minor maintenance work of the visitor facilities.

Working as part of a team, you will be the first point of call for visitors, sharing your knowledge of the park and providing first aid. You will work in the visitor centre/information desk as required and will regularly inspect our facilities and record your findings.  Pride in our parks is key and litter picking is a daily task, ensuring our sites are always presented to a high standard. Weekends and bank holidays will be worked on a rota basis. There will be various events and educational activities that you will be required to assist with. You will ensure that visitors enjoy their visits to our country parks and encourage them to observe the Country Parks policies, laws and byelaws and make sure the Council’s property and stock are secure at all times.

If you are excited by this opportunity and feel you have the skills, experience and attitude we are looking for we would love to hear from you. At Eastleigh, we are committed to supporting and developing all our staff and creating a culture that is inclusive, innovative and enjoyable. We offer a good range of benefits and facilities and support our staff in maintaining a good work life balance through our innovative flexi time system.
