What it's like to work here

 

Holnicote Estate makes up 12,000 acres of Exmoor National Park and is a contrasting landscape with everything from wild, rugged moorland and shingle beaches to ancient woodland and charming thatched villages. A fantastic place for walking, horse riding and cycling, Holnicote has 150 miles of footpaths and bridleways to explore. Red deer, Exmoor ponies, bats and the rare heath fritillary butterfly along with an awesome array of lichens and mosses make Holnicote a unique and very special place to visit.

 

What you'll be doing

 

You'll be working at a landscape scale with two property teams to deliver significant woodland conservation along Exmoor Coast. You will be responsible for the planning, coordination, delivery and reporting for the Reconnecting Exmoor Coast project, part of the Exmoor Coast Programme.Working across the whole landscape and with two portfolio teams to deliver the project ambitions and influence beyond our boundaries with tenants, land owners and key stakeholders. As Project Manager you will be in charge of ensuring objectives are met, recorded and reported on correctly along with managing all budget and expenditure relating to it.

 

You will be part of a broader team of staff on the properties working to reverse the decline in nature and generate new commercial income streams. Working alongside our tenants and partners in the local community, youíll communicate with other organisations promoting the project and its outcomes, protecting and enhancing the Trustís assets and reputation.

 

Who we're looking for

 

With a wide range of skills in your toolkit, you'll need to demonstrate the following skills and experience;

  • Knowledge and/or experience of good habitat management
  • Knowledge and/or experience of developing commercial opportunities including revenue generation, fundraising or funding applications
  • Project Management Experience Ė scheduling, risk management, estimating and cost control
  • Ability to identify and apply for funding, including countryside stewardship, with support of operational and consultancy teams
  • Able to focus energy and resources not just on where we can improve the most, but on how we ensure all our supporters feel valued, invested in and care passionately about our work
  • Ability to communicate through a diverse range of platforms including blogs, social media, journalistic articles, photography and community talks
