Job Role

Job Title: Operations Manager

Salary: £30,000 - £37,500 

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (full time)

Duration of post: Permanent

Location: River Stewardship Company office & tool store and the regionís waterways

Annual Leave: 34 days, including bank holidays. 

Pension:  7% of gross income contribution by the company

We are looking to recruit an experienced, motivated and knowledgeable Operations Manager to develop and manage a portfolio of commercial projects within the Yorkshire area (and elsewhere, as required), as well as working with the Chief Executive to assist with overseeing operations. This will include having responsibility for the management of the depot, equipment, vehicles and other assets.

 

The Operations Manager will be responsible to the Chief Executive and have line management responsibilities for a small number of staff from the delivery team, as required. The Operations Manager will also work closely with volunteers and other community interest organisations as well as with clients and sub-contractors. They will comprise a key part of the executive Leadership Team, and report in to the non-executive Board as and when required.

 

Person Specification

The Operations Manager will have a proven track record of developing and managing multiple commercial projects, in the fields of conservation, landscaping or construction. They will have a good knowledge of health and safety, and preferably have undergone NEBOSH or IOSH Managing Safely training. They will have experience of managing staff and subcontractors, have excellent interpersonal skills and can communicate at all levels through various media. They will also have experience in managing equipment, vehicles and other assets.
