Engagement Ranger, Dearne Valley, Barnsley, South Yorkshire

The Garganey Trust is a small Yorkshire-based environmental charity which requires an experienced and enthusiastic professional or organisation to deliver a programme of community engagement and volunteer activities as part of its HLF-funded ‘Wings across the Ings’ project in the Dearne Valley of South Yorkshire.

You will deliver an agreed programme of events and practical works, and develop volunteering and local community engagement, at our main reserve at Broomhill Flash and an adjacent new habitat creation and flood risk mitigation scheme. You will be responsible for organising and planning the programme and have a budget to support the work.

We are looking for a freelance professional or organisation to supply 150 days’ work to December 2019, starting as soon as possible.  We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, well organised, enthusiastic and a good communicator with partners, community groups, volunteers and schools, and is prepared to work flexibly to get the job done, as more effort will be required in the early stages to establish the programme.

Applications to include details of experience and costs (day-rates, overheads and overall price) are invited by 5 pm Friday 27 April 2018 to garganeytrust@gmail.com
