Crown Estate Scotland (Interim Management) is recruiting for a Countryside Manager to join our Estates Team.  This is a full time position based at our Glenlivet Estate Office in Tomintoul for a fixed term of 3 years.

 

Covering 23,000 hectares, Glenlivet comprises over 30 let farms, 3,500 hectares of commercial forests and a sporting tenancy including grouse moors, salmon fishing and deer stalking.

 

The successful applicant will be responsible for the effective management of visitor services, infrastructure management and service development within our Glenlivet Estate and other Crown Estate Scotland properties where required.  You will therefore be expected to bring a strong working knowledge and understanding of countryside management issues, land management practices in the Scottish Highlands and our natural heritage.

 

You will be expected to lead on projects which promote sustainable economic development in Glenlivet, support local tourism and enhance the infrastructure of the Estate. You should therefore have an ability to manage your own workload and competing priorities and have experience of partnership working in rural communities.

 

You will also work closely with managing agents, tenants, local community groups, the local development trust and Cairngorms National Part Authority. You should therefore have experience of developing and maintaining positive working relationships with land managers, agencies, organisations and contractors to deliver partnership initiatives.

 

As Countryside Manager you will be manager our small Glenlivet team and report to our Head of Property. You should therefore have experience managing a team of people to deliver excellent service to stakeholders. As a good team player, you will be able to build strong working relationships with people.

 

This is an exciting opportunity for an applicant to contribute to the ongoing success and development of Crown Estate Scotland.

 

Following the devolution of the management of Crown assets in Scotland from The Crown Estate, Crown Estate Scotland began operating on 1st April 2017.  Assets now managed on behalf of Scottish Ministers include agricultural and forestry land, most of the seabed, just under half of the foreshore and commercial property.  We work with communities, tenants and partners to deliver our vision of innovating with land and property to create prosperity for Scotland and its communities.  We return all revenue profit to Scottish Government.
