Job Profile: Education and Wellbeing Lead

Employer: Rewilding project on a farm

  

Job Responsibilities:

Prepare and lead nature connection sessions. Responsible for risk assessments, safeguarding, school and family liaison and leading sessions. 2/3rd of the time is spent on session delivery which involves time outdoors and it is busier in the summer.

 

Qualifications needed:

Different pathways as it is a unique job e.g. I have Forest School Level 3, Therapeutic use of the Outdoors Certificate, Diploma in Social and Therapeutic Horticulture and Early Years training. Other people may have teacher training, playwork training etc. Experience with farm animals.

Additional training: DBS, First Aid, Safeguarding, Food hygiene, Group training depending on the needs of groups e.g. neurodiversity training, mental health first aid.

Skills needed: You need to have a keen connection to nature and an interest in engaging children to connect with it. Good child development knowledge. Patience, sense of humour, calm approach. Physically active job, outdoors in all weathers.
