Overview
WWOOF UK is a charity and membership organisation that connects people who want to learn about organic farming and sustainable living with farms, smallholdings, crofts, gardens and other land-based projects across the United Kingdom.
Visitors, known as WWOOFers, share in the daily life of their hosts, gain practical experience and learn about organic agriculture, agroecology and sustainable ways of living. In return for helping with activities on the land for part of each day, hosts provide meals, accommodation and opportunities for learning, with no money exchanged between hosts and WWOOFers.
WWOOF UK is part of a worldwide movement founded in the UK in 1971. It promotes educational and cultural exchange, practical land-based learning and greater awareness of ecological farming practices.
