This role presents a unique opportunity to play a leading part in an exciting new project to enable and empower people to take action for nature. Working in partnership with one of our major corporate partners, this project will inspire people to give nature a home where they live, such as in their gardens or on balconies, as well as helping people take a range of other actions to help tackle the nature and climate crisis.
Senior Conservation Social Scientist - RSPB

The RSPB Centre for Conservation Science is looking for a talented and experienced person to join our team providing social science research and evidence to inform the wide portfolio of work of the RSPB.
The work programme will span international and UK nature conservation issues, and the post-holder will be expected to balance their own project work with line management of others, occasional training of partners and provision of general evidence-based social science advice to diverse interest groups across RSPB. There will be a focus, though not exclusive, on providing support for projects seeking joint conservation and human livelihood outcomes, currently particularly in sub-Saharan Africa.

In your role as Assistant Warden, you will assist in coordinating and leading the delivery of a busy work programme across multiple sites. Your role will be varied - in any given week you could be supervising and developing volunteers, delivering hands-on habitat management, surveying wildlife and habitats, supervising contractors, working with visitors or carrying out estate maintenance.
