BWRC is a UK membership organisation representing the wildlife rescue and rehabilitation sector. Our charitable aim is to advance public education on the care and welfare of sick, injured, and orphaned wild animals.

The British Wildlife Rehabilitation Council (BWRC) exists to advance the education of the public in relation to the care and welfare of sick, injured and orphaned wild animals. We are a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), run entirely by volunteers and funded through membership subscriptions and events. We receive no government or external funding.

As the UK's membership organisation for wildlife rehabilitation, our members include wildlife rehabilitators, veterinary professionals, researchers, academics and other stakeholders with an interest in native wildlife welfare. We are the only organisation dedicated to supporting and representing the wildlife rehabilitation sector across the UK through education, professional development, collaboration and the promotion of best practice.

The BWRC regularly represents the sector in discussions with government departments, statutory agencies, professional bodies and other stakeholder organisations. Through ongoing engagement with our diverse membership, we ensure the views and expertise of those working directly with wildlife casualties help inform policy, guidance and the continued development of wildlife rehabilitation standards across the UK
