We hope you’ve enjoyed our CJS Focused Week on Environmental Education and discovered how varied the work be from den building to delivering lectures on rhinos, helping educate everyone from preschoolers to adults and, maybe the most important of all, other educators who are not familiar with what goes on in the countryside or don’t know how to take their lessons outside and really want to. School field trips to outdoor centres and sites can create a lifelong passion with inspiration striking in the most unexpected places, for Jo Harris of the Field Studies Council that was peering into a rockpool. As Dawn Preston from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Trust explained making your activities fun both in and out of school time keeps them engaging and allows the introduction of potentially worrying topics in a low-stress way. All proving how important it is the next generation learn about nature not only with a view to joining us in caring for the countryside but also ensuring everyone has an understanding of what goes on and a healthy respect for the natural world, something the Nature Premium Campaign is taking to the Government.
If we’ve inspired you to join the environmental education sector or you want to expand your existing offer we have plenty of resources on the website to help you.
