Profile of: New Nature
New Nature is a new e-magazine written, edited and produced entirely by young people. By young conservationists, naturalists, ecologists and, of course, writers; each inspired in their own way by the natural world. As a free online publication, our aims are simple: to offer a fresh perspective on environmental issues, to highlight the beauty to be seen year-round in the British countryside and showcase the passion and talent of those at the helm of the youth nature movement. While also endeavoring to provide an enjoyable monthly read for our subscriber's absent tedious advertisements or product placements.
New Nature includes passionate opinion – on myriad topics ranging from zoos and hunting to microplastics and the value of volunteer placements – as well as news, careers advice, trip reports, creative writing and book reviews. All of which come in addition to interviews with well-known environmentalist’s keen to offer words of wisdom to the next generation of wildlife heroes; with examples of those featured to date including Nick Baker, Chris Packham, and Lucy McRobert.
Founded by James Common in late 2016 New Nature now finds itself
going from strength to strength, both as a popular online publication
and a hub for young people from across Britain to come together, express
their views, network and find common cause.
