37 hours per week, Fixed Term for 3 years
Starting Salary £29,643 per annum,
SNH is looking for someone to deliver professional rural land management advice to both SNH staff and land managers, in the context of designated sites in the north of Scotland, including Orkney and Shetland. Occasional travel will be required. You will consider practical, legal, contractual and financial implications and negotiate with land managers to ensure the best natural heritage outcomes are met cost-effectively. You will be working flexibly with various SNH Units in a supportive working environment on both local and national projects.
You must have full membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Rural) or be working towards full membership. You must also have an understanding and experience of farm and estate land management and economics and demonstrate awareness of Scotlandís system of protected areas. Knowledge of key legislation affecting rural land management with an understanding and experience of SRDP and other incentives for positive management of designated sites are a must. Finally, you must be able to engage, influence and communicate effectively with land managers and have a willingness to travel so a driving licence is essential.
