Emmaus Cornwall is seeking a Tree Nursery Lead for our Community Tree Nursery - Emmaus Community Trees at our 3 acre site nr St Austell, Cornwall.

Started in August 2022, we are seeking to grow a viable and sustainable business by collecting our own quality seeds to produce the best quality trees while offering life enhancing opportunities to our volunteers, building skills, confidence and supporting health and well being. We aim to be selling over 200,000 trees and hedging within the next few years, with all profits returned to finance the charity. We will be growing a mixture of field, cell and pot grown plants with the appropriate level of mechanisation to aid efficiency. We cared for nearly 100,000 field and cell grown trees in 2023.

We lease a further 25 acres of land and hope that in the future we will be able to expand our activities to increase our community involvement through a range of appropriate activities, such as growing food crops and helping people to reconnect with nature, with all the benefits that brings. There is scope for future professional development.

This is, therefore, a challenging and highly rewarding opportunity for a suitably talented, experienced and qualified person. This role really is about people, plants and planet, and the appointed person will have an important role in all of our futures.

Emmaus Community Trees is in Trewoon, near St Austell.

£29,000 per annum, 40 hours per week.
