Thomson Ecology Ltd has opportunities for experienced and very competent
Senior Ecologists and Ecologists with sound consultancy experience to join
our team at our head office in Guildford and at our Regional offices in
Cardiff and Leeds. These are full time permanent positions. We give all
ecologists the chance to manage projects and you will be supported in this
with excellent company systems and substantial training opportunities.
Full time post for 6 months. The post holder will be required to carry out botanical surveys of
potential Local Wildlife Sites identified from desk based analysis, and
produce site survey reports, liaise with landowners and provide land
management advice. This will
include advising landowners on the Natural Assets Grant Scheme (a small
grants scheme for habitat works on Local Wildlife Sites).

Harapan Rainforest is an innovative project to protect and restore a former logging concession (c 1000 km2) in Sumatra. We are looking for a Senior level Scientist to work with the Research and Conservation Department at Harapan Rainforest (HRF). You will develop the science required to support the effective
restoration of the site so you will need particular skills and experience in
tropical forest restoration. You will work closely with the HRF Forest
Operations Department to deliver restoration activities according to best
practise.

Island We require a visitor services officer on Skomer Island. This is a short
term contract April to August with flexible hours which can be up to 48 per
week. The main part of this role is to welcome residential visitors to Skomer Island and to be the Wildlife Trust’s first point of contact for these guests, ensuring that they get the most from their stay. Skomer Island Field Assistant Location: Skomer Island, Pembrokeshire 4 month contract from Mid April – Mid-August, with flexible hours.
Summer working hours can be up to 48 per week. To assist the Reserve Warden survey and monitor seabirds and
contribute to the management of Skomer Island NNR. All data will be used by
the Seabird Monitoring Programme organised by JNCC.

require occasional attendance at meetings throughout Wales. The post is
