Live-In Catering / Dining Room Assistant

A vacancy currently exists for a Live-in Catering and Dining Room Assistant, carrying out mainly domestic duties in this Field Studies Council Centre. To start as soon as possible.  Most tasks are based in and around the Centre dining room: laying tables, serving meals and washing up, although no cooking is involved.

Flatford Mill is in an attractive location at the heart of ‘Constable Country' in South Suffolk, with easy access to the local towns of Ipswich and Colchester and also to London. There are 30 people on the Centre staff, with seven living on site. 

This is a full-time, resident post: 37.5 hours / 5 days a week on a flexible rota.

No special qualifications are required. Basic Hygiene and First Aid Certificates will be useful, but appropriate training will be given as necessary.

Single bedroom accommodation is provided with access to a range of residential facilities, including sitting room, breakfast bar, bathroom, laundry, TV, phone and internet access. All meals are provided, with special diets catered for.

There are opportunities to observe and join in with the wide range of Centre environmental and educational activities in your free time (afternoons and two days off a week).                                  

Weekly wage: £207, plus full board and lodging provided at the Centre (for a £30 deduction).
