About Us

CJS Logo

What we are:                  Countryside Jobs Service is an ethical small business publishing free & low cost information to promote countryside careers in the UK & environmental conservation worldwide.  CJS was established and first published in July 1994.  CJS is endorsed by both the Scottish Countryside Rangers Association & the Countryside Management Association; CJS supports both with a percentage of income.  CJS sponsors CJ  Snail at Jersey Zoo and ‘Naturenet’ at www.naturenet.net and supports the Leukaemia Research Fund.  We are trade members of BASC.

What we do:   We have three publications focusing on recruitment advertising, two of which are freely available on this website, these are: CJS Daily Online and CJS Monthly. The third publication, CJS Weekly, contains details of these two publications and other adverts sent direct from the employer plus a digest of vacancies within the countryside, conservation, environment sectors reviewed from national newspapers and specialist publications.  In addition to recruitment advertising we publish quarterly Special Editions highlighting one area of the sector. Also online you’ll find a comprehensive Events Diary section with information on training courses and opportunities; there are also links pages, a glossary of terms and acronyms from within the sector, details on how to advertise with us and lots more.

Who we are:   A small team of ex-rangers, educations officers and ecologists working on a co-operative basis to ensure we publish the widest range of relevant information for our readers.  Our backgrounds in the industry ensure we know what will be relevant to those currently in the field.
