REF VOL-DIRECT-5/4 JOB VOLUNTARY RESEARCH ASSISTANT BE4 N / A LOC OXFORD PAY 0 FOR THE UPPER THAMES CRAYFISH REMOVAL PROJECT DES The Project is a replicated ecological experiment studying the effects of removing invasive signal crayfish from an Oxfordshire river. The study will run April to Sept 2010, & vols will be needed throughout this period to assist with the day to day fieldwork. Vols will have the opportunity to gain experience of research in the area of invasive species biology, learn about capture-mark-recapture techniques & gain excellent overall experience of ecological fieldwork. Field activities will incl setting & checking crayfish traps & handling, measuring & marking signal crayfish, working with the freshwater biology team at WildCRU.
