Senior Ecologist
Salary: £25-28,000 (depending on experience)
Hours: Full time (37.5 hours) usually 9:00-5:30 but with some early
morning and evening work as required
Solum Environmental are looking to appoint a Senior Ecologist to join our
small but dedicated team in Knutsford, Cheshire.
Responsibilities:
- Managing various NorthWest ecological projects
- Liasing with clients, design teams, statutory bodies and planning
authorities
- Organising and supervising other members of staff and subcontractors
- Undertaking field work including protected species surveys, habitat
surveys and BREEAM assessments
- Producing reports, management plans, licence applications and
protected species mitigation strategies
Qualifications and Experience:
- A can-do attitude
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Project Management experience of delivering projects on time and to
budget
- Client management skills
- An appropriate degree
- In-depth knowledge of protected species and habitat surveys
- Have a minimum of 5 years' relevant work experience
- Holding / having previously held licences to disturb protected
species (especially Bats and GCNs)
- Thorough knowledge of ecological legislation and policy
- Full member of IEEM preferred
- Physically fit
- Full clean driving licence
