If you're think of a career in countryside or conservation then it's probably that you'll need some specialist training.  This page has details of some of the many longer courses available, suitable for all levels from MSc for people looking to change career to NVQs offered free in return for voluntary work.  the courses are subdivded according to content.

 

 

Land and Countryside Management

Level 1 Diploma In Environmental Conservation

Introduction to conservation work, covering habitat management, planting, constructing footpaths, teamwork, H&S & transporting resources. This is delivered alongside a certificate in Functional Skills. 2 days per week for 40 weeks with a strong practical focus. Requires reasonable levels of fitness. Level 2 Diploma Environmental Conservation

L1 and Level 2 Diplomas in Environmental Training

Hands-on practical courses tackling real tasks on Sussex sites. 2 days each week from September to Easter. Level 1 - learn skills such as habitat management, H&S, tool maintenance.
